because that enormous snow storm I posted about below? Not happening now LOL Just rain. Lots and lots of glorious rain. Rain I’ll take. Because it’s melting all that snow!! I can see grass again. It’s awesome :) It also means I can get to Bridgewater Monday to get the windshield fixed instead of waiting until Thursday! wheee!
Not much on for the weekend, as usual. Might pop down to karaoke tonight – or might stay home, tucked into bed with some movies. One of those things I don’t really worry about much :) Have a great weekend!
This has not been a good week honestly. The worst of which I can’t really get into, sufficed to say my personal life sucks right now, and I’ll leave it at that.
Then, there was the weather outlook of an upcoming storm. At first, it was only predicted to hit on one day, Sunday, and total about 30 cms. THAT was bad enough. NOW??? 10-15cms for Sunday, 15 cms for Monday. 10 cms for Tuesday. Holy sweet effing mother of god. ENOUGH already dammit!
But then? Today?? It was a gorgeous day, mild, sun was out – so I thought I’d have the bright idea to drive out to Summerville beach and go for a nice, quiet solitary walk on the beach to have some *me* time – to think about some things and just clear my head. I was about half way out when a rather large dump truck came barreling towards me, at a rather high rate of speed from what I could tell, and there it was. Aimed right for my head so it seemed. A projectile rock. Headed straight for me. And it hit the windshield with quite a *thump* At first I couldn’t see where any damage was done, but as I continued driving (you know, AFTER my heart restarted) there they were. 2 little lines in the glass snaking their way along rather lazily. *sigh*
I stopped at a safe place and put a call into my darling big brother, ended up driving back into town and caught him at work and got his advice on what I should do. First was to call my insurance company to check out if I was covered with my policy. Nope. I’m not (and that’s what you get for taking the cheap way out and only having the barest minimal coverage you can lol), then I put a call into Apple Auto Glass in Brigdewater – they can certainly fix it – but not until Monday at the earliest (not happening with the storm of course) so I’m booked in for Thursday morning, 10am. I’ll be about $300 poorer at the end of it. I guess the kids and I dont eat for the month of March LOL
As usual, here not much of anything :) It was a fairly quiet weekend – had no where to go, no one to see, Megan’s sleepover from Friday night continued for Saturday night – the girls were being so good, and having such a good time together that Crystal asked me Sat after supper if they could keep her one more night – Alyssa was rather hoping it was going to be indefinitely, but alas, I went and picked her up this afternoon LOL
And for a lazy Sunday I’m getting quite a bit done – my laundry is washed/dried/put away. Alyssa’s is washed and now in the dryer, Megan came home and went straight to her room and cleaned it, and now her laundry is waiting for me to get it started. The kitchen at the moment is cleaned, supper is waiting to be cooked (hamburgers for the kids, left over chili thawing out for me), Megs and I went through her closet and cleaned out a ton of stuff she doesn’t wear anymore – not sure if they’re going to the Red Cross drop off box or if I’ll save them for the yard sale I’m planning for the Spring.
Speaking of Spring – can’t wait for THAT to get here LOL Another storm moving in for tonight/tomorrow – only I’m not entirely sure of any snow, but Queen’s County is under a severe heavy rain fall warning for tonight AND a high wind warning (100+km’s/hour apparently) so yea, going to be a rather interesting night I gather. Here’s hoping the power stays on and the satelite stays going cuz it’s Sunday and that means Amazing Race is on!
So there ya go – my little world in all it’s boring glory LOL
Quite an echo in here, eh? LOL You know you’ve been slack in the blogging department when you get stopped in the middle of the grocery store (Hi Mrs D! LOL) and then get a long distance phone call (Hi Dad! lol) wondering why there’s been nothing new to read here!!! So hi!
I’m still here – with not much to say apparently!
So, let’s see – what’s been happening here. Hmmmm – not much really! The kids are doing very well in school – Alyssa’s second semester of high school is so far going awesome! She’s pulling a 94% in Math at the moment, her last 3 quizzes have been a 96%, 89% and today she brought home an 84% – wooohoooo
If she keeps this up, and is at a 70% or better come June she wont have to write the math exam so here’s hoping she can keep it up! Then we’ll only have to worry about her history. And speaking of Alyssa – in 2 1/2 very short weeks, my baby is going to be turning 16. 16!!! Oy!! My baby can learn to drive. eeek! I’m not sure I’m ready for that! lol Megan also is doing great and is at the moment getting herself ready for a sleepover with her friend Hayleigh – Hayleigh’s Mom Crystal is a really good friend of mine, and they’re picking Miss Megs up around 6, heading to B’water for a movie, then she’s spending the night at their place. Now if I could only find a sleepover date for Alyssa LOL
And in my little world?? Waiting not so patiently for some money to hit my bank account so I could maybe get some bills paid lol and well – just so everyone knows, my state of insanity is still alive and well – I’ve been talking to a mortgage broker, looking at some real estate, and thinking *maybe* about buying a house again. ROFL. No really, I am! I can find something nice and small, and for a $100 000 mortgage go from a $600/month rent payment to about a $450/month mortgage payment. Makes sense to me right? I dunno, we’ll see. This probably wont happen for at least 6 months or more, as I’m sure my lovely landlord Bruce would like me to finish some projects I have on the go here first LOL But anyway, I’m sure I’ll blog all about it when and if it happens
No complaining about the weather today ppl – it is simple a near perfect day out there (to be perfect the snow would have to be completely gone, it would have to be say the middle of May, and we’d all be wearing shorts and flip flops LOL) But it is a wonderful +10′C out there, the sun is out, the snow IS melting slowly – so nearly perfect like I said. Having a somewhat quiet day today – Megan had a friend over Friday night and she didn’t leave until supper time Saturday, last night was actually spent at home doing nothing, Alyssa and Megan crashed out and I had the house to myself. Today I’m picking my way through clutter and mess, getting clean laundry put away, gearing up to do yet more, kitchen is actually cleaned (well, until I start supper that is lol) and I really need to get the vacuum out and take care of all the dog hair floating around. Both girls have already had their baths, which means I’ll actually have hot water tonight for mine LOL
Tonight’s plans?? Start working my way through my income taxes – I *think* I have all the necessary papers now, except for my medical stuff which I’ll get hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday – then I can get it done, e-filed and get some money in the bank – it would be nice to get caught up on some bills *sigh* There’s a chance Alyssa can get into Drivers Ed this semester, and it’s no longer free like it was when *I* was in school – no, now it’s like $500.00 holy crap!
BUT – I want her to learn to drive correctly so I guess I need to find that money somewhere. *sigh* lol
Honestly I do lol It started snowing around 8am this morning. The really smart people at the school board decided to NOT heed all the weather storm warnings for today and did NOT cancel school – so off the girls went. Yea. By 10am they had canceled school, dismissing 3 hours early. Alyssa was home by 11am, Megan was home by 12:30 I think. My first shoveling job was at 10am. I came in at 9pm tonight from doing it a 5TH TIME. OY! lol It snowed, without let up, from 8am until about 3pm. Then it changed to ice pellets/freezing rain. When I came in at 9pm it was still coming down with the ice pellets (which by the way are NO FUN TO SHOVEL! lol) I keep peeking out the window to see if there’s any new accumulation in the driveway, but none as of yet – yay!
Maybe I can call it quits??
And now I am going to head to the bath tub, and have a nice hot bath. I hurt all over lol
That damn little rodent saw his freaking shadow today
Do we really need 6 more weeks of Winter? I think not! And what’s being predicted for tomorrow?? Another damn snow storm Urrrgh! And yet tonight?? It’s really foggy, kinda mild, not at all snow like out there. ugh! I might just scream if school gets canceled – hell Alyssa’s been home since Wednesday! omg! lol She wrote her last exam that day, walked in the door around 9:30am and hasn’t left the house since! The girl NEEDS to go back to school! I need my house back to myself so I can crank my music, sing at the top of my lungs, have the house stay clean….ROFL
After my little painting gig Saturday, I’ve now decided to maybe paint the rest of the room. I brought home a few (ok ok, I brought home I think 10) paint chips, all in various shades of creme, and now I just need to figure out which one goes with that luscious color upstairs. Man I love it! It’s so pretty.
Well, hmmm – what else? Not much really. I’m waiting to make an appointment with an orthodontist…yes, at 40 years of age it appears I might need braces. Ummm – yay?? lol Now I’ve always had a huge ugly, god I’ve always hated it, space between my top front teeth. But in the last few years I’ve been developing NEW spaces…as in my teeth are moving. Or maybe they’re shrinking. I don’t know. All I know is – I HATE my teeth. So I’ll at least go for a consult and see what’s what. My dentist mentioned maybe needing jaw surgery first, to remove some of my jaw. Ummmmm
That certainly wasn’t in my plans! But I guess it makes sense – if the spaces are happening because there’s too much jaw bone there, there’s no point in spending thousands of dollars on braces, to only have the spaces reappear later down the road, right? But yikes. Surgery. Pain. $$$$. Money I don’t actually have at the moment to spend. Money I wish would hurry up and magically appear in my bank account! (cuz frankly getting caught up from Christmas would be a good thing too right? LOL) Well, we’ll see what happens when I finally get an appointment! I am so thankful the girls both have perfect teeth. Whew!
And that my friends is it. I’m off to bed!
