man, it’s yucky out there – windy as all get out and rain rain rain!  I wont complain too loudly tho, because there are some areas of Nova Scotia (Valley, Truro, Picto area) that are under a heavy SNOWFALL warning today with schools closed and everything lol They can keep it all up that way!  But the dark dreary stormy day matches my mood today *sigh*  You know that house I posted about a couple days ago? The one that I loved without even having gone to see it yet? Well after much thinking about it, I decided I would go see it this week – and if I loved it as much as I suspected I would, I was going to do everything in my power to make it work out.  Only to find out this morning from my realtor that there is already an accepted offer on it :(  I could cry.  Actually, I *did* cry a little.  ugh!  You know, I totally believe in Karma, believe that whatever you put out in life comes back to you threefold – so I have to wonder just what in the heck I ever did in my past lives that karma really likes kicking me in the ass in this one. lol  Just once I’d like something to actually work out in my favor, you know?

ehhhhh. Maybe someday I guess

The sun is out, the sky is blue, had sun roof wide open in the car earlier this afternoon – dare I say it? It’s really and truly Spring?  I think maybe I can!  Wheeeee!! lol

Not too much going on here today – picked Alyssa up at noon from the High School, after successfully surviving her “30 Hour Faminine” ordeal (this website says its happening next weekend, but our kids did it this weekend) Surprisingly she didn’t eat as soon as she came home – no, she popped a couple Tylenol and went to lay down ROFL!!!

I also got the huge screens for the living room windows brought in from the garage, cleaned off, scrubbed the windows all nice and shiny and put the screens back in – soon I’ll be able to open those suckers and let in the nice fresh air! Ahhhhhh.  Also just kinda de-cluttering here and there, piling up stuff for the yard sale that will be happening here in another month or so – Karen and I are going to do one huge one here at my place – with her and Brad moving to a much smaller house they certainly have stuff to get rid of, and I also do not plan on moving half this crap (errrrr great stuff! lol) with me either!  So hopefully we’ll be able to sell all of it :)  And speaking of me moving – had a brief conversation with my land lord yesterday – he’s known for awhile now that I’m house hunting, but he’d like to put this house back on the market while I’m still living in it and wanted to know what I thought about that. It makes sense because an empty house just does not show well at all, and he’s promised me that he wont sell it out from under me leaving me homeless LOL It just kinda sucks that I’m going to have to keep everything spotless (or as close to it as I can) for those unexpected showings.  Ugh. Thought I was over all that LOL  Oh well – here’s hoping I win on 6-49 tonight and don’t have to worry about finding a nice house I can afford rofl!  Hey! a girl can dream can’t she?? :)

So my friend Shelly who works for T&C Homes emailed me late yesterday with the final pricing of all the various floor plans I had picked out. Well.  I have learned in the last couple weeks that finding affordable land is not an easy thing to do. Neither is trying to work out prices for the much needed well and septic – as well as the rest of the “hidden” costs of things I’d need to have in place before any home could be delivered and set up.  *sigh*  I’m so disappointed – I really wanted this aspect of owning a home to work out for me.  But, unless I win the lottery, or find some hidden well stocked bank account, or my investments suddenly take one helluva huge upswing, it aint gonna happen :(   So. Now I’m back to trying to finding a house.  Well…as you read in the post below I have found one…but again, I can’t see how I can make that work out financially.  UGH.  You know, I wish I could go back ohhhh about 6 years or so and do some things a bit differently.  Oh well, I can’t so no use dwelling on it.   The perfect house will be found eventually.  It’s the waiting that’s gonna kill me lol

Today’s agenda is pretty much the same as any other day…kitchen is cleaned, just need to vacuum, have already done the upstairs bathroom, and the 3rd load of laundry is washing as I type – 1st load done and folded, 2nd load in dryer.  Alyssa wont be home until tomorrow, Megs will be arriving home in about 3 hours.  Then it’s another boring weekend ahead with nothing to do. Yay.  :)

The huge storm we were supposed to get on Monday/Tuesday never did appear…we got snow, but just enough to cover the ground…and it’s all gone again so yay for that! lol  The days start off rather cold, but usually now by lunch time it’s warmed up considerably.  This weekend is supposed to be up near +10′C so that’s a bonus!

Nothing new on the home buying front.  This is all so freaking confusing honestly lol  I’m constantly on the real estate websites looking to see what’s new or what’s worth going to look at – but really, there’s nothing out there in my price range.  I’m still pricing floor plans through T&C Homes, and these are completely doable as I’ve said already…it’s needing the land/well/septic that is just not going to work in my budget *sigh*  I have my heart set on one of these, just no where to put it.  Blah!  I’m sure at some point I’ll find a house that’s everything I want…but will it come without doing any work to it – that’s the big question.  I’ve renovated and flipped 2 houses now – I really do NOT want to get into major renovations again – and even that comes with a price that may or may not be in my budget.  UGH. UGH UGH UGH.  Why did I think this was a good idea?? oh yea, tired of paying rent every month on a house that I really do not want to live in anymore I guess lol  And yes, I know – good things come to those who wait. I’m not a patient person. Never was, can’t see me starting now LOL

With that being said, there is one house I’d like to go see.  It’s darn near perfect from what I can tell.  Recent wonderful upgrades. Outside of town limits in my #1 preferred area.  Heck, even the paint colors already there are what I’ve used here in this house!!! It’s on a really quiet road, no close side by side neighbors so there’s that privacy I want. But.  And isn’t there always a freaking damn but in there??? It’s priced right now about $20,000 over my limit. Not my absolute limit mind you, but still.   And it’s right here Really, the only thing I’d *want* to change (and it wouldn’t *have* to be done, I’d just like it to be) is maybe the siding. But other then that?? It’s perfect  :(  I need to stay away from real estate sites for awhile I think.

Other then that, not a thing going on – the girls are fine – great even if you exclude the sudden attitude coming from both of them lol  I thought by the end of March Break I’d was going to have to bury them in the backyard, but they survived :)  Alyssa is looking forward to tomorrow night – she and a bunch of her friends are taking part in the *30 Hour Famine* at her school – once she arrives at school in the morning she wont be home again until Saturday afternoon – and NO EATING.  I don’t know how she’s gonna survive it LOL  But I’m proud of her for wanting to do it, raising pledges etc…shes a good kid when she wants to be ;)

and with it the end of the girl’s week off school for their Spring Break…ahhhh yes, those lovely yellow buses will be out making their rounds in the morning and I can get back to my routine!  Admittedly it’s really not much of a routine, but dayum I hate when it gets messed up :)   We didn’t do anything for the entire week, but it *was* nice not having to get up everyday lol

The weather lately has been just heavenly – but that apparently is coming to an end over the next couple days…SNOW is coming so it seems.  Snow. UGH.  Although every time I hit the weather network site it keeps getting less and less in the amounts lol  Yesterday it was saying 2-4 cms for tonight, 10 cms for tomorrow and another 10cms for Tuesday.  Good god. Our snow is GONE here now except for a few larger piles here and there.  But as of a little while ago we are not getting any for tonight, less then 10cms for tomorrow and now they are saying 5-10cms for Tuesday.  Here’s betting we get nothing but rain now. Ok?  Please don’t burst my bubble! I’m so tired of Winter. LOL

And well – I guess that’s it for now :)

lordy, I love my children, but man I’ll be glad when this week is over and they’re back in school! lol  Underfoot all day long, the weather while pretty nice all week (except today – raining today blah!) it’s still not really mild enough for them to play outdoors (and yea, the back yard is a PIT! really need to get out there and clean up after the dogs, and the rest of the fallen tree mess). So yea – they’re fighting over the computer, over the tv, over who gets to sit on the sofa….oy! lol

This morning I headed out and went to see not 1, not 2, but 3 houses. None of which were what I was looking for *sigh*  I was really hoping the first one was going to be perfect, but nope!  The layout of the upstairs sucked, the dining area wasn’t big enough for my dining table,  only one bathroom which was downstairs and not upstairs with the bedrooms – would have needed all new windows, new roof  – and the noise from the traffic??? No freaking way!! LOL  The 2nd house was big enough – but just what I’d have to do in cosmetic work was enough to send me running – we weren’t in that one more then 5 mins lol the only *good* thing about it was the awesome view from the living room window of the Mersey River.  And #3 was just too small – no dining room, tiny eat in kitchen that with my fussyness I’d have had to gut and redo LOL  and well, it was only 2 bedrooms – it was once 3, but I’m not looking at doing major renovations to anything I buy.  So back to looking.  Honestly, I really really REALLY want to do the brand new mini home. I have the perfect floor plan picked out, and the price of it is completely doable. BUT (and isn’t there always a but?) It’s getting the money for land/well/septic because I *WILL* be moving outside of town limits and will need the well and septic.  So – anyone want to lend me ohhhhh 20-25 grand??? LOL

that would be having 2 extra 16 yr olds spending the night LOL  Alyssa had 2 friends come spend the night last night – there was one sleeping on the sofa, the other 2 were on the floor on mattresses from upstairs – they were really quiet all night which was nice – I have no idea what time they finally settled down, when I went to bed just after midnight they were watching scary movies in the dark LOL  They devoured an entire ice cream cake (eating the rest of it this morning for breakfast lol), and lord knows what other junk food, but oh well! they had fun I think :) One just left, the other is hanging around for a bit, I’ve got the house all cleaned up again, supper cooking, it’s a gorgeous day out there – I really should maybe get the vacuum and go clean the car…maybe….LOL

On the house/land buying front – went and saw a pc of property Friday. *sigh*  I wish these things weren’t so difficult for me – ugh.  I’ve pretty much gone from thinking “this will be perfect” to “no way in hell” lol  The only real pros are – it already has a drilled well AND septic in place.  The cons? Next door to a salvage yard with no privacy – I’d have to erect one very large, very long, very high fence to keep from seeing it every day. And while the owners ARE very nice ppl, I really don’t want to look at old junky cars every day.  The land is in need of work – I’m sure it could end up being very very nice, but do *I* want to get into that?   While there *is* a septic there,  I have no idea yet if it’s ok, or if it needs work – which ends up costing me $$$  ‘sigh’  My budget really doesn’t stretch that far.  So. I guess I’m still looking – and looking and looking.

The girls are on their week long break from school at the moment – yay – I get to sleep in every day! wheee! :)  And uhhh, I guess that’s that for now :)

My first baby was born. Yes, hard to beleive, but Miss Alyssa turned 16 today – officially at 2:10am lol  Very low keyed day – she got her gifts Saturday on our shopping trip, but today she got a bouquet of flowers picked out by her little sister, along with a cute *Happy Birthday* helium balloon, and she got to have whatever she wanted for supper – mussells, bacon wrapped chicken, mashed potatoes and corn, and a cute cupcake birthday cake in rainbow icing.  Brad, Karen and Nick came for cake, along with Kevin and Tracy, her Grandpa and Nana called before supper to talk to her (hi dad :naz: lol) – it was just a really nice day :)

Today was also awesome with the weather – not cold, sun was out…I can get used to days like that!!! lol

But really, other then that not much going on.  Still keeping my eye out on the local real estate market (nothing much out there), thinking I may still want to go with a brand new mini home (have priced those already), its just a matter of finding a place to put one – I do NOT want to do any sort of trailor park, I want a pc of land of my own, for privacy sake. I want peace and quiet.   So who knows. I may be here in 6 months time or I may have once again moved. LOL It’s never ending with me, isn’t it???

because the clocks go ahead one hour tonight! yay! More daylight to be enjoyed :) And today was a pretty good day – it was soooo nice out – sunny, very mild (+10′C) and more importantly, the girls and I headed to Bridgewater and got in some much needed shopping!!  Alyssa needed new sneakers and a new winter coat (ugh) so got that out of the way.  Both girls still had quite a bit of Christmas money to spend, so they happily did that.  *I* had a Christmas gift card to use at my favorite clothing store, and went a bit over board on some new duds, but hey after the last couple of weeks from hell I’ve put in, I deserved it! ROFL!  Alyssa also picked out 3 things she really wanted for her birthday, which is on Tuesday. My baby is going to be 16. Oy! how did THAT happen??? LOL

Then we stopped and had a late lunch at Boston Pizza, getting back home around 4pm.  Lazed around a bit, and then went and picked Karen up and headed to an Epicure spice party.  Spent way too  much there too, but I cant wait to get my stuff!  Yummmy!  While I was there, Megan got invited to spend the night at Breanna’s house, so Val came and got her, and right now Alyssa and I are just enjoying some peace and quiet LOL  I’m soon going to go get a coffee I think, then come home and go to bed. I was out last night to a party which ended up at the bar and well, I may have had a bit too much to drink. LOL I’m a little tired tonight :)

yes, the kidlets had no school today because of the weather – no snow, but ice. Lots and lots of ice.  EVERYTHING was covered in it – the trees, car, driveway, roads…in very thick ice. Took close to 15 mins to get the car de-iced this morning! lol But by this afternoon, it was a mild +6, ice was melting, more of what was left of the snow was melting, and it rained pretty much all day. Sometimes really really hard!  In fact it’s still raining and of course the dogs are patiently waiting to get out for their last pee of the day *sigh*  I just love having to dry off before going to bed!

I’m really hoping that I can get to B’water tomorrow and get the windshield fixed – the crack has grown and is now pretty much in my face while I’m driving, and also extends along the whole bottom of the windshield. Yay LOL  Not fun really, and even tho I know it wont happen, everytime I hit a big bump or something I think the damn thing is going to shatter in my lap LOL

and that my friends, is all for now :)
