before my few faithful readers yell at me – usually in the middle of the grocery store (Hi Pat )

Not had much to write about lately – same ol’ same ol’ really.  It gets kinda boring talking about the weather and house hunting all the time! lol  Today was a lovely day tho, a nice change from the cold, damp rain we’ve been having…it’s not nice having to put the furnace on when it’s this close to June, you know?!?  But the sun and warm temps were back in full force today, with a nice cool breeze along for the ride

Put in another busy weekend – Friday really didn’t do much of anything – Alyssa had a hair cut, and we brought home a new toy – a flat iron for our hair. This thing is amazing – we are both seriously in love with it! Everyone keeps asking me what I’ve had done to mine – cut? Color? highlights? No no and no! LOL  just beautifully soft, smooth, sleek hair for a change!  And Alyssa’s??? She’s never had straight hair a day in her life, but she does now? Holy crow! It’s going to make growing her hair out long so much easier to deal with!  I’m just afraid we’re both going to need some sort of 12 Step program or something before we both end up bald! ha! lol  I ended up at the bar for a bit Friday night – first time I’ve been there in a month – haven’t missed much, and can see why I’ve been bypassing it lately lol

Saturday Megan was at a birthday party during the afternoon, then she ended up spending the night at her friend Cheyenne’s, Val and I went to a Winds of Change play being put on at the Astor – hilarious!  We had a blast, then today Megs had yet another birthday party to go to, I went and visited with Brad and Karen for a bit and walked out with a new computer – yay me!!! lol No seriously, Brad had an awesome computer sitting up there, in perfect working order and he gave it to me, knowing mine was about ready to bite the dust. I’m so thankful for my awesome friends :)  And he’s going to give my old one the once over and have it ready for us to use for our games – Alyssa is desperately wanting to get the Sims games out and running again (ok ok, I am too lol)

But I tell ya – it’s awesome to be sitting here, cruising along on a computer that actually works, doesn’t freeze up, doesn’t give me errors, and doesn’t take 10 times longer to do something then it should!

And other then Alyssa finally being able to mow the lawn, and me getting the house cleaned, that was about it for our weekend

Seemed as if I was on the go the whole time for some reason…maybe because I was?  Friday night I spent about 3 hours at my friend Crystal’s – sitting outside by a fire, enjoying a beer or two, some yummy munchies and going through her newest candle books – I was a good girl and didn’t buy anything this time LOL  Alyssa spent the evening at home alone enjoying the peace and quiet – Megan was at her friend Cheyenne’s for the night

Saturday I farted around most of the day doing a few errands and gearing up for quiz night at the Legion. Met up with my *team* at Matt and Krista’s (lordy I’m there a lot these days lol), had a few glasses of wine, some munchies, played with Riston for a bit then we all headed out and walked to the Legion for 8pm – the quiz lasted until about 11pm, and by 11:15 or so we were all headed to the Alley…some of us were sober…the other’s??? Not so much LOL  Man I love being the sober one…it’s so much fun watching the drunks     But it was a late night, not getting home until I think 1:40am, then I played on the computer until something to 3…foolishly put the tv on when I finally went to bed…oy…I was seriously dragging butt this morning! And Alyssa enjoyed yet another night of peace and quiet because Megan no sooner got home from Cheyenne’s when she was then off to her friend Martina’s for yet another sleepover.  The girl has a busier social life then me! LOL 

Today I went and did a major grocery shopping trip…I was rather lucky on some lottery tickets on Saturday (won $500! go me! LOL) and I sunk over $300 of that into restocking the kitchen. We can eat again for a while LOL  I’ll tuck the rest away for Megan’s upcoming birthday – my baby is turning 10  next month – double digits!  And she has requested rollar blades as her big gift…and she poor child needs a new bike in the worst way. So there ya go

And now I’m getting ready to head to bed…10:30pm and I’m wiped!  Just need to switch laundry from the washer to the dryer first! Oh, and the dogs might want to go pee first :)  Have a good one!

Oh my what a gorgeous day today was!!  Sunny, blue skies, and very very very warm! :)   It’s almost 10pm and I still have all the windows wide opened – ahhhhh it’s so nice!  So let’s see…Sunday evening my darling friend Crystal very nicely took Megan for the night so that Alyssa and I could attend a Survivor finale party at Matt and Krista’s – we arrived shortly before 9pm to find the driveway lined with lit tiki torches…nice touch LOL  Inside we found lots of yummy food, great friends…and Alyssa walked away with a 2nd place finish in our Survivor pool – $30 bucks richer!  She was happy! She would have been happier with stealing 1st place from Krista tho and the $140 prize! LOL

Monday evening found me back at Matt and Krista’s with friend Karen for a an Epicure spice party – yummie stuff and I can’t wait to get my order!  But the best part of the evening was the fact that Krista’s sisiter Tammi was down from the city, bringing with her Luke – her new 3 week old son!! Omg! Totally adorable, very cuddly and snuggly…ahhhhhhh what an awesome baby fix THAT was! LOL I hogged him most of the evening I think! lol  If I wasn’t loving on Luke, then I was walking around with Krista’s equally adorable 1yr old son Riston! :)  Fun fun fun!!!

This weekend is gearing up to be yet another busy one – Friday eveing is a girly wine, candle and I’m sure gossipy session at Crystal’s, Saturday night I have somehow found myself talked into joining a bunch of crazies…errrrr I mean friends on their trivia team at the legion, Monday night I’m helping Angela do a Passion party, and at some point over the next 2 weeks bestest bud Val and I are heading to the Astor theater for a play they are putting on.  WHEW. LOL

And if I disappear don’t be alarmed…my computer is yet again dying a very slow painful death…I’m not sure how much longer it’s going to stay working, and frankly there’s not much room in the budget for a new one *sigh*  Not sure Brad can save this one again lol  Thank god I can facebook from my cell phone.  Did I just admit that??? LOLOL

Now here’s hoping the lovely weather sticks around for a nice long time eh??? (well except the heat. Could have done without that today LOL)

it’s been raining on and off for days now *sigh*  hate it!  Could be worse I know – I have friends out west who are still getting snow…ick! lol  But dang it, warmth and sunshine would be good too you know!

Long weekend here, no school for the kids tomorrow, and Alyssa gets Tuesday off as well (all Grade 10′s have the day off while the Grade 9′s go up to the High School for orientation) then she’s off to the city in Wednesday with her O2 class for something or other lol  Megan is spending the afternoon today with one friend, then home long enough for a quick bath, pack an overnight bag then she’s off to her friend Hayleigh’s for the night so Alyssa and I can go attend a Survivor Finale party at Matt and Krista’s! We’ve been in a Survivor pool since the beginning and as of right now it’s neck and neck between Krista and Alyssa to win 1st and 2nd place!!  Alyssa is just one point behind Krista…but if she’s made the right choices for who’s getting voted off in the right order and picked the correct person to win…she may just tie with her for top spot!!  It’s going to be a long 3 hours there I can tell LOLOL  should be fun tho!!!

Absolutely nothing on the home buying/selling front either…no new showings (thank god cuz the house is a pit at the moment LOL) and there’s been nothing new on the market that I’ve wanted to look at lately *sigh* I know I know…patience.  Never was a virtue of mine lol

Today I’ve just been muddling through some laundry, trying to keep the kitchen clean, and I think I’ll attack the upstairs bathroom before supper…which I suppose I should make a decision on as well lol  I think I short nap should be worked in there somewhere too…LOL

Or hump day as we like to call it around here?  Where the heck did the weekend go??  Papa and Kathleen were here as I said before, stayed until Monday morning – didn’t get to see too much of them this time around, so hopefully next time we’ll have more time to just sit and chat some :)  The showing on Sunday was a quick one – in and out in about ohhhhh 15 mins tops. lol oh well!  Not for them apparently!  I’m still searching, still not finding anything at the moment.

The foot is healing…it’s pretty good most days now – which is good because those damn pills I’m on knock me right out Oy! LOL  I finally had to ask my friend Krista who works at the pharmacy where I got them if I couldn’t possibly cut them in half and just take 1/2 of one in the morning and 1/2 of one at night instead of a full one each time…thankfully she said yea I could! lol I’m too old to go around stoned every day LOLOL

Ending the week on a sad note unfortunately – I have 2 funerals to go to – one tomorrow and one on Friday *sigh*   Both for young women, only in their 40′s – makes you stop and think about just how life really is too short – and how you need to just step back, embrace it, grab at it, live it, love it…don’t hesitate for anything! You just never know what life is going to bring you from one day to the next.

So – on that note – have a good one ladies and gents :)  I’m off to watch the Penguins STOMP all over the Capitals….GO PENNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL  then it’s time for some American Idol – GO ADAM!!

The weekend is once again upon us – not much going on for us – well no, I lie – we are expecting Papa and his friend Kathleen tonight, staying for a couple days (family thing happening tomorrow) so the girls and I are slowly picking up the house and getting ready for their arrival.  Got a call from the relator that there’s another showing tomorrow so I guess it’s a good thing I’m cleaning lol

I did something to myself earlier in the week…it’s the oddest thing! I went to bed Monday night feeling fine, got up Tuesday morning and couldn’t walk on my left foot properly.  I hobbled around for the next couple days but it wasn’t getting any better so tried to get into my doctor yesterday (but as luck would have it, it was a nice day and he was taking most of the day off! LOL)  So I braved out patients at the hospital.  2 hours later I had a diagnosis – I somehow badly stretched or pulled or something to the Achilles Tendon. I’m on a nice strong anti-infammatory for the next couple weeks.  Oy!  Which are completely knocking me on my butt lol All I want to do is SLEEEEEEEEP.  Sleep sleep sleep.  Was supposed to go out last night with a bunch of the girls, but as I cant drink anything while on these pills, and supposed to stay off foot if possible, I was in bed before midnight.  Up in the middle of the night to take another pill tho (and I have to eat when I take them – nothing like chowing down at 2:30am in the morning!)

Now I think I’m going to go have a nap – it’s *make your own supper night* – gotta love those!! LOL  then I’ll see what’s on for later

Got up this morning and got my butt in gear…got everything spic and span again, dusted, vacuumed, cleaned up and smelling good…and once again we were 30 mins ahead of schedule LOL So the girls, dogs and me of course took off for a nice drive…went and rented a couple games/movies for the girls, hit Tim Horton’s for refreshments and then hit the road…first we snuck up by the house to see if the people were here ( and yes they were…surprise surprise it was the same vehicle doing the drive-bys yesterday! ROFL!) then we went down around Brooklyn, up around Milton…back up around the house…they were STILL here…so out around Western Head/Mersey Point….back home…finally gone!  They were here for a good 30 mins.

Dropped the girls off, and then headed back out to go see Susan over at the Superstore, now I’m home again (obviously) and trying to figure out something for supper.  Not sure what my plans are for later…probably nothing. But who knows!

that’s what we are looking forward to this weekend…blah!  It starting pouring here this morning, started to dry up a bit this afternoon, but the rain is back full force again now.  Yay – not! LOL  It was damp enough this morning I had to put the furnace on for a bit – which I’m trying really hard NOT to do as I only have 1/4 of a tank of oil left for the furnace and I really do NOT want to put anymore in it *sigh*

Not sure how the last showing went on Wednesday – good I assume – and we have yet another one for tomorrow. When the agent called to tell me about it, and what time to be out of the house by, I started laughing…I just knew I was going to be getting a call about a new showing…I was curled up on the sofa at lunch time watching a movie and this van drove by a couple times…slowed right down…peeking in at the place LOLOL  I said to myself…yup! Here comes another showing…and I was right!  Thankfully the house is still clean from Wednesday! lol  Make sure the bedrooms are straightened up tonight, and then in the morning run the vacuum through and clean the bathroom.

And because it’s such a wet, damp dreary day I have a nice big pot of chili simmering on the stove…nice fresh Italian rolls waiting to be heated – it’s Friday and I’m sure my plans for later will be standing at the Alley bored out of my mind….man I need a life! LOL

Oh yea…I forgot to post this yesterday but it was Beltane yesterday…which is a Pagan (or in my case Wiccan) holiday celebrating the coming of Summer….Beltane is normally celebrated on the eve of May Day (which is today! So very merry May Day!) I love this particular “holiday” as it reafirms that Summer is indeed coming. It “celebrates the height of Spring and the flowering of life.”  Can’t really argue with that logic can you??
