I know I know…I’ve been slack with the blogging…I’ve not really been doing a whole helluva lot since the girls left…3 whole weeks ago! lol  One more week and they’ll be home again apparently – there goes my nice clean, quiet, peaceful house LOL  No, I’ll be glad to have them home again – it gets kinda lonely here sometimes! :)

Summer finally decided to descent upon us – that’s what I get for complaining the other day about how cold it was LOL  it’s been unbearably hot here the last couple days…this weather sucks, going from one extreme to the other!  It is nice to see the sun tho, but the heat and humidity can just turn around and go back from wherever it came from! lol

And I’m sitting here trying to decide what tonight’s plans are…and seeing as it’s almost 10:30pm I think I should decide soon, no?  I spent a couple hours earlier at my friend Crystal’s, having a lovely dip in her pool – ahhhh it was heaven! I’m sitting here staring at a gallon of paint that I bought yesterday – going to change the living room a bit – if I was smart I’d do that tonight now that it’s cooled off so nicely…hmmmm….lol no, I doubt highly I’ll start that now – but I do want to get it done over the next couple days so the yucky paint smell is gone before the girls get home….*sigh*  me and my bright ideas lol

Been quiet lately…not much to say apparently lol  So let’s do an update shall we?

Kids – still gone. Still being good, and having fun.  Talked to them a couple days ago, Megan informs me that they’ll be home sometime during the first week of August.  Talked to Pam the next day, she informs me they’re still on schedule to come home sometime before Labor Day. Hmm. Ok.  I think they’ve well and truely been kidnapped LOL.   I’ve spent the last 2+ weeks very much enjoying the peace, quiet and cleanliness that is my house :)

I will admit to perhaps missing them a little tho…it DOES get a little too quiet here come evenings when I’ve barely talked to any other human during the course of the day ;)

House hunting…nothing new there. *sigh*

Me…same ol’ same ol’.  I’m now tossing around maybe going back to school…checking out a few different courses I could take from the Bridgewater campus community college that are actually done online, which would save me a ton of $$ from traveling back and forth everyday especially in the Winter months.  I dunno.  While saving me $$ doing it at home, it’s certianly not free to do so I’d have to come up with the funds somehow.  You know, at the same time as trying to figure out how to finance a house too.  Fun!

Weather…it would be nice to finally say Summer is here. But it’s not. At all. lol  We had a few really nice days last week – in fact last Sunday was a gorgeous one!  I went to Summerville beach with Crystal, daughter Hayleigh, hubby Alton and her sister Sandy and actually got a sunburn lol  The sun was out in all her glory, hardly a cloud in the sky and an awesome breeze to cool you off – it was perfect!  But as the end of the week came nearer it did the usual cold, wet, damp, dreary and rainy days.  Yesterday was the pits!  But today the sun is trying desperately to come out and stay out…but dayum it’s almost cold! brrrr!  I’m sitting here thinking I need to go get some socks and put on so my feet will warm up.  How bad is that for the end of July??? uuugh! lol

what a miserable day!  It started last night once we were on our way home from the movie…not really raining but that wet, dense mist that just makes everything soaked…woke up this morning to rain. Lots and lots of rain. Blah!!

And the movie…well. Let’s start off by saying this.  Harry Potter movies, especially the last ohhhh 2 or 3, are not really the best venue to take small children to.  Small children in the 2-4 age group range. Why?? Because they can’t sit still or SHUT UP through a 2+hour  movie. Certainly not one that goes 2 hours and 33 mins to be exact. No, they talk (and not quietly), they whine, they cry even. They cant and wont sit still. They walk up and down the movie theater.  Not even SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH’ing them very loudly at one point (oh yes I did!) didn’t help. Nor did going and complaining which is what Val and I did at one point. No, the idiotic mother apparently has trained her rude children to shut the hell up when movie theater workers arrive to watch them. UUUUGGGHHHH.   So please…if you can’t control your children? If they don’t know how to act during a movie geared for you know…..OLDER kids and adults….then please for the love of the gods, keep them the hell home!  What that mother spent on tickets and food to try and keep them quiet, she could have spent on a babysitter!   Oy!   I know we couldn’t have been the only ones to complain!

But other then that? The movie was good. Not as good as some of them, but I liked it.  I will like it even more when I can buy it on DVD and you know, actually watch it to the end and hear everything that is being said LOL

Talked to the girls this afternoon – Megan was busy helping Aunt Pammy make chocolate chip cookies and apple spice muffins…she, Pam and Alyssa were still in their jammies, enjoying a quiet day of really doing nothing :) They are having fun still, so it’s all good!  Once I finished talking to them I cranked the tunes and dusted/vacuumed, did the couple dishes I had in the sink, and stripped my bed…waiting on the washer now so I can get it all in the dryer.  Tonight’s plans include me, Karen and Kim having a small girlie night of wine/movies at Kim’s new place – and hoping for an early’ish night as last night turned out to be a rather late one lol

So, what’s up?? Not much here – I am still very much enjoying my *alone* time at the moment!  The girls have been gone a week already – talked to them very briefly last night when they got home from seeing the newest Harry Potter movie, but we didn’t talk long as they caught me on my cell while out visiting a friend…but they called me this afternoon and we talked for 30 mins LOL   Megan kept asking “but Moooooom…do you miss us yet???”  I kept saying “uhhh, no, am I supposed too???”  <insert Mother of the Year award here>  ROFL!   I mean really – the house is still completely clean, clutter free…no build up of laundry, perfectly clean bedrooms…beds made and everything. I cook if and when I want to…it’s quiet…I’ll admit sometimes TOO quiet….LOL  Ok ok, I may miss them a little ;)

But they are still having a great time, and their Aunt Pammy is in no hurry to send them home yet :)

Speaking of Harry Potter…Val, Josh and I are off to see the wonderful Wizards of Hogwarts tonight (Friday) – woooot!  I went to Bridgewater Wednesday morning and bought our tickets to ensure we’d be able to get seats…we can’t wait!!!  It’s a tradition that we all go see Harry and friends together, although this is the first time Alyssa wont be with us!

And I guess that’s it for now…it started raining a bit ago and of course the dogs still have to go out for their last pee of the night…they aren’t going to be too happy about it! lol

We’ve had glorious sun for the last 3-4 days…it’s been awesome! The girls are having a great time in Cape Breton…or at least I’ll assume they are…I haven’t actually spoken to them yet LOL  Pam gave me a message from Alyssa – they don’t miss me and are having fun…the brats! ha!

I spent most of yesterday dealing with thier bedrooms….*giggle* both are now extremely clean, and very much clutter and garbage free!  And all their left behind laundry is done, washed/dried/folded and put away.  In fact the entire house is pretty  much spotless. Amazing isn’t it?? :)  Last night I decided to forego going out and stayed home…had a few drinks, listened to music, watched some TV, I had rented a couple movies but never did watch them…I guess that’s this afternoon’s plans as they have to go back to the store tonight…oops lol  And that’s pretty  much all I’m doing today :)

what? can’t hear anything?  me either! It’s so quiet here!  The girls and I were up early, and on the road ahead of schedule for a change…so much so we had to wait almost 30 mins in Truro for Pam to arrive! LOL  Ooooops! We arrived at about 11:30am – the drive was great…it was sunny, traffic was awesome, no annoying road construction…and once Pam and Jonathan arrived we had lunch at McDonald’s, talked for a bit, and by 1pm we were all heading back home…me blissfully alone, Pam with a van full LOL   I pulled back into Liverpool at approx 3:15pm, and Pam messaged me saying they got home about 3:30pm :)

Once I got home I got busy…and cleaned and got the house all straightened up….made myself some supper (yummie huge pot of hodge podge…enough to last me days! lol) and cleaned up again from that.  I’ve spent a very lazy evening at home…had a nice long relaxing bath,  couple glasses of wine, watched the first episode of Big Brother…and now I’m just about done for the day! I’m exhausted!  My butt hurts from being in the car for so long! lol

Oh well – the girls couldn’t wait to be on the road for Cape Breton…Pam told me her and Archie have a ton of things planned for all of them to do and I’m so glad they went – not just because I am so going to enjoy my alone time either! But happy that the girls are getting the chance to spend some time with their Aunt, Uncle and cousins making memories!

Oy! I’m so glad it’s over! The weekend ended with fireworks Sunday night, Alyssa didn’t want to go so she stayed home, Megan ended up going with her friend Martina so I headed to Matt and Krista’s and watched them there – in the comfort of comfy lawn chairs, beers on hand, munchies, and great friends…it was an awesome night :)

Yesterday I spent a lot of the day cleaning the house…ick!  It kinda got away from me again lol  I’ll get a lot done over the next few weeks tho…wanna know why?????  Cuz I’m gonna be KIDLESS!  Yes! You read that right! Over the last couple days their Aunt Pammy and I have been talking and she really wants them to come up for awhile…so does their cousin Jonathan…and well they are so anxious to have them they are going up on Thursday!   :whee:  :stars:  :woohoo:

Ooops, sorry about that. I’m a little excited about that too apparently!  LOL So I’ll be driving up to Truro Thursday morning to drop them off with Pam, and they’ll be home?????? Who knows! Pam says they can stay as long as they want.  I told her that school DID start the Wed after labor day, it would be nice to have them home by then LOLOL  But I really should get working on some laundry for the two of them…maybe dig out the suitcases…make sure they both have everything they need, right?? yea that would be a really good idea I think :)

and so far the rain is holding off nicely – not that the sun has come out for any length of time mind you, but overcast/coolish and no rain will do – and really, do we have any choice in the matter? No we dont!

Yesterday I worked at the park for a few hours selling duckies for the Annual Lion’s Duck race – and I’m back at it this afternoon for a few hours. Megan and I were up and out of the house this morning in time to make the parade so that was a bonus too :)   Last night I made a very quick appearance at the bar, popped over to the beer tent for 5 mins, but decided it was going to be a waste of $$ and time to even go in, so I was home by 12:15am.  Beer tent is on again tonight, as well as karaoke at the bar again, but I’m thinking I’m not even bothering – I’m getting too old and really, it’s no fun to do that stuff alone, is it? No it isnt lol  The rides are also here as well, but I’m not sure I’m letting the girls go – it’s such a waste of money – I’d rather wait until the Bridgewater Exibition and take them there for the day.

There’s also the new Harry Potter movie in a couple weeks – Val and I always take the kids to that, and there’s a new Final Destination movie coming out in August – Val and I REALLY REALLY want to take the older kids and head into Halifax to the Imax theater so we can watch all the blood and gore in 3D LOL  Should be fun.  Alyssa and I are also counting down the months until the newest Twilight move is out in November.

Now I’d really like to get a small nap in before I head for my duck duty, but not sure that’s going to happen…there’s the never ending house work and laundry calling my name….where’s my ear plugs when I need them??

and once again the day dawn’s dreary, cool, damp, wet…raining raining raining. UGHHHH!  We are growing mossy and moldy here! lol

My day started at the very dark and very early hour of 4:15am when not 1, 2 or 3 but 6 very loud fire trucks went zooming by the house.  I got up about 10 mins after that and pretty much stayed up…leaving around 5am for a quick coffee and drive to see if I could find out where the emergency vehicles went – found them up in Cobb’s Ridge, and found out a bit later that there was a garage fire up there. I think the trucks started returning back to the station around 6am.  Not quite the way to start your day, eh?

I layed back down around 7am, until my alarm went off at 8:30 – had to be up and out of the house for a breakfast date with Tracy R.  We sat and talked for 2 hours and a couple cups of coffee lol! was a nice morning tho :)  Now I’m sitting here wasting a bit of time…but soon headed back to bed for a very much needed short nap.

Not much else going on today…there’s a small celebration happening in town today, and hopefully the skies will clear enough for the fireworks tonight.  It’s Privateer Days this coming weekend, so there’s that money trap to look forward to as well lol
